My friend Helen De Michiel has a great project up on Kickstarter, which documents the Berkeley School Lunch initiative. Part of a larger film OPEN MINDS, OPEN MOUTHS that will be available next year, the Kickstarter effort will be to fund a activist social media project around a series of short and free webisodes to “put a human face on food policy reform.” Beyond the fundamental nutritional and health issues, food policy is a site of numerous intersecting points in contemporary culture ranging from economic, environmental, and quality of life concerns. Here’s a clip and a link to Kickstarter where you can check out more about the LUNCH LOVE COMMUNITY social media project.
